Local Fishing & Weather Report as of 7/10/2012

#1-McCloud Reservoir (McCloud) – Trout fishing is red hot right now. Trolling Sep’s dodgers with a fly/worm combo is deadly. My last few trips with clients and family have produced easy limits, while landing between 40 and 65 Trout per trip. The Trout are between the surface and 50 feet, browns are deeper near the bottom while the rainbows are in the top 25 feet.  Yesterday, my clients and I got out on the water by 6:30am and had the reservoir practically all to ourselves nearly  as well as consistent all day bite.  The weather is outstanding warm sunny couldn’t ask for too much better!!

#2-Medicine LakeTrout fishing is excellent at this little gem by boat or from the shore. Hungry brook and rainbow Trout can be had by casting lures or trolling slow and vertical jigging over marked fish.

#3-Klamath River (Hornbrook) - The Salmon fly hatch is over now but there are still hungry Steelhead and Trout waiting to be caught. The river is in excellent shape and hardly anyone is out fishing.

#4-Shasta Valley Wildlife Refuge (Montague) – Trout Lake is fishing well for Bass in the shallows. A plastic red flake worm in the 4 to 6 inch range is a good choice.

#5-Eagle Lake (Susanville) - Open and fishing checkout Eaglelake.net or Myoutdoorbuddy.com for the latest

#6 Lake Siskiyou- Easy limits can be had but get out early lots of camping traffic this time of year.

#7 Greenhorn Park (Yreka) - Bass and Trout are taking bait and lures, this is a fun little park for a family picnic.
