Fishing seems to be good everwhere right now. The Klamath River has been producing excellent opportunities to catch a lot of Steely/Trout for those that are trying. Yesterday, I took my Dad to Trout Lake in the Shasta Valley Wildlife refuge and we caught and released 8 fat Eagle Lake Trout while trolling a Seps dodger with a Seps grub trailer. Each Trout we caught was bigger and than the last (1, 1.5, 2, 2, 3, 3 , 3.5, 4.5) thats over 20 pounds of Trout. Talk about a good fight these fish are hungry and striking hard just about every one we caught jumped out of the water on then made nice drag burning runs. Doesnt get much better than that! The key to getting bit was rowing very very slow and keeping the dodger moving just above the weedline. This lake is open only 3 days a week (Wednesday Saturday and Sunday), Bass Lake, its sister lake, is open everyday and has been fishing well too.
