The Salmon are starting to arrive at the Hatchery near the base of the Irongate Dam. I fished with Steve and his 10 year old nephew Tommy (Oak Park, CA) who were part of a 6 boat group. It was quite the family outing. We caught and released 4 nice Salmon on the day. Tommy landed 2 Salmon and Steve landed 2 Salmon, Tommy caught the only Buck, but it was the hog of the day. A nice 37-inch, 25 pounder that nailed a K-15 kwikfish. The group caught and released 12 Salmon on the day.

***Talking with the other guides, who had been fishing the lower part of the Klamath River, the Salmon fishing had been very good. They had been landing 20 fish a day for 2 to 3 weeks, so dont believe all the bad reports that have been coming from uninformed writters. The overall numbers may be down, but there are not many places that I know of, where you have a chance of landing 5 to 10, 20 pound Salmon, in one day.
