Guy Ives (Sis-Q Guide Service) and I fished the Klamath River below Irongate dam yesterday, to see if we could hook a Salmon. We did not hook a Salmon but we did land some nice Steelhead and Trout, most of which were Hatchery fish. Water conditions are on the warm side and the flow is just over 1000cfs but we should start to see Salmon arriving within the next week. We talked to one fisherman who landed a 15 pounder on Thursaday. Reports coming from the mouth are good. There have been tons of Jack Salmon and Steelhead coming in, as well as some nice Adult Salmon. The season is catch and release for Adult Salmon but you can keep Jacks and one Hatchery Steelhead.
