Well, here we are folks!  August 1st tomorrow which starts the most productive month of the year for fishing on Shasta Lake.  Our best rainbow trout fishing happens in August and we will see plenty of big browns and King/Kokanee salmon coming to the net as well.  We fish Shasta Lake year round, and this year, we had it all to ourslves.  With Whiskeytown Lake fishing so well since spring, all other permitted fishing charter boats took advantage of the easy Kokanee fishing on Whiskeytown and left Shasta alone.  This was good for us but bad for the exposure Shasta Lake gets every summer.  Between the California media outlets spreading misinformation about the condition of Shasta Lake and the lack of overall fishing efforts, Shasta Lake saw only half of the normal fisherman and recreational users its sees in an average year.  It was nice to have lots of room to fish on Shasta every day but it was hard on the business end for sure.  Fortunately, we have lots of other venues to fish locally and overall, business has been good.  We have started our 2022 Sacramento River King salmon season so we only have a few guides available to fish Shasta Lake in August but we have lots of available dates.  The fishing will be great in August so now is the time to either consider making the drive up to Shasta with your own boat or to hire one of our guides for the day to help you experience what August fishing on Shasta Lake has to offer.  Thisis a great time of year for all ages to experience the thrill of catching!  Call Jaynie for more information at (530) 510-2925.  Thank you!
