With the fall run of King salmon on the Sacramento River winding down quickly, we've turned our attention to the steelhead/trout fishing from Anderson to Redding until our late fall run of King salmon shows up in descent numbers.  Its great to have these back up options for our clients when a season has come to an end prematurely.  We had two fisheries this year that got cut short because of run timing and most notably the water levels.  Fortunately, there are some other good options for fishing when such things happen.  As far as the Sacramento River near Redding goes, fishing for steelhead/trout is the best thing going right now.  The fall salmon are spawning in Redding and the egg patterns are finally really starting to take off.  A combination of steelhead and rainbow trout will be plenty to keep everyone busy until we can add options for for fishing Shasta Lake, Trinity River, and the Anderson stretch of the Sac for late fall Kings.  We need some rain to get things started, and we'll be looking for our fall/winter fish to arrive shortly after.  Call jaynie at (530) 510-2925 for more information about the late fall and winter fishing trip options here in the Redding area.  Thank you!
