The past few weeks have shown a sharp rise in the King salmon bite in Shasta Lake.  We're still catching some nice trout, but if you target Kings, you'll catch them!  We're not using traditional Shasta Lake salmon gear, we've found that fishing these Kings like most people do in the ocean works great!  Whether you are mooching or trolling, the fishing techniques are the same as they are  in the salt.  Finding them on sonar is easy early in the morning but a lot of the arches disappear when the sun comes up.  There's actually a lot of Kings in Shasta right now and thats great news for next years lake season.  The trout bite is still sort of slow, but we're getting some nice trout every trip. The trout are eating shad again so that bite will be hot very soon!  Thank you!
