It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Phil “Flip” Akers, who for many years shared his stories and passion for the outdoors as a writer and columnist for My Outdoor Buddy.  He passed suddenly late last week in the outdoors that he loved so dearly. We offer our thoughts and prayers to Flip, his loved ones, friends and colleagues who mourn his loss.  We  will all remember him and his enthusiasm and compassion fondly.

Gary Heffley has been a valued contributor to MyOutdoorBuddy for over 10 years serving as manager, sales representative and reporter for much of Northern California. He is an avid outdoorsman and loves to fish and write about his adventures. He has a long history in the Sporting Goods field and uses that extensive experience to impart his wisdom in his writing.
