Whiskeytown Lake continues to impress everyone who has been fishing there since the bite really turned on a few weeks ago.  Its been a favorite place to fish for Kokanee for decades, but the size and quality of these fish just seem to be at the top of the scale the past several years.  I've been really busy on other fisheries and have only spent a little time fishing for Kokanee this year.  It's so good right now, it only took a few minutes to get my first takedown this season and that was at 3:30 in the afternoon.  Thats generally not a very good time to start your day of fishing for Kokanee, but thats testimony as to how productive the fishing is right now.  Anthony Cox of AC Guide Service sent me a report yesterday stating easy limits of good size Kokanee trolling the main body and the 299 bridge no deeper than 45' feet.  Whiskeytown Lake guide Anthony Cox (ac.guide.service@hotmail.com) has available dates and will be fishing Whiskeytown a good number of days this summer so give him a call to book your trip.  Anthony got me started fishing for Kokanee so he really knows what he's doing out there and you can learn a lot about Kokanee fishing during your day with him.  Like me, he's willing to share his fishing knowledge and you will end the day knowing more about kokanee fishing Whiskeytown lake, I gaurantee it.
