11/21/18 - My client Rand had a fantastic pre Turkey day catching releasing close to 30 Klamath fish on everything method we put in water.

Video from yesterday's trip

Klamath River Steelhead and Trout continue to feed like it was going to be their last meal. Backtrolling maglips or jetdiver night crawlers, side casting rapalas and ham/eggs under the indicator all caught fish for Rand yesterday. These fish are hungry and fighting hard, often jumping and ripping drag, once hooked up. Rand landed 10 nice adult Steelhead to go along with 20 other fish that often fought as hard as their bigger brothers and sisters.

Over the next 4 months Winter Steelhead and Trout fishing on the Klamath will continue to be some of the best fishing around. At any time you could land a real Klamath hog, these fish are often 25 to 32 inches in length and weighting between 5 and 12 pounds. December 2017 produced an 29 inch 10 pound hog that hopefully is in the 30 inch bracket and weighing even more.

We did experience some true Winter Steelhead weather yesterday which often means some combination of cold wind rain sun snow wet warm hail. Fortunately we just had a bit of cold rain and some wind, nothing to harsh. But don't let that stop you from fishing, I also have a heater in the boat and it does knock the chill off even in the coldest weather.

Christmas and New Years are just a little over a month away. I have the perfect gift certificate stocking stuffer presents for you fisherman or woman.
