The Sac River steelhead are known for their hard fighting nature! Catching these fish with our ultra light G.Loomis spin rods is a lot of fun!

The rainbow trout and steelhead fishing in Redding is very good now and will only get better beginning August 1st when the river opens above the SR 44 bridge.  We drifted cured eggs and Dick Nite spoons today, and the Dick nite Spoons were again the top performer!  Drift the Dick Nite Spoons like you would drift bait and hang on!  The strikes can be violent!  Todays two clients caught dozens of hard fighting rainbows and caught/released several steelhead as well.  Water conditions are great and boat traffic was very light.  There was only one other power boat working the river today making for a very pleasant trip.  I still have August 3rd after the opener available and the fishing on the Sacramento River in Redding for rainbows and steelhead is going to be very good!  Tight lines!
