It was a day of firsts. Stanley's wife Betty was able to go out Salmon fishing on my boat for the first time ever. She hooked and landed her first Salmon, all while learning how to bounce for the first time. It was a pretty neat experience for al involved today. I dont think you could have wiped that grin off...

I’d quit all my jobs if every time I made a hopeful statement it came true. Yesterday, I asked for double our numbers and half the temperature rise, for today. When I picked up Stanley this morning his wife was not feeling well and was not able to fish. I figured double the fish count was not possible. HAHA!! Not...

I picked up my client Stanley Green this morning at half past dark (which is just short of dark 30). The morning temperature was around 45 degrees (shorts and tee-shirt for me); we dropped the boat in the water and drifted down to the first hole as the sun came up (6:30 am). Well, 45 degrees later (11:30 am) we...

Dad and I hit the river for a few hours this morning and slammed 4 out 5 Salmon. We had our K-15 kwikfish in the water for maybe 5 minutes, backtrolling down the river into the first hole, and slamola, Mr. Buck buried that rod tip in the water. After a short battle he was netted and released, what great...

Fishing on the upper Klamath river has steadily improved this week. Earlier in the week while fishing with my Dad we hooked up on 8 Salmon landing 4 of them. We also landed one nice fat 22 inch hatchery Steelhead. Yesterday, my client Don Smith (Shasta Valley Tires in Montague) of Hornbrook, Ca and I better than doubled our numbers from earlier in the week....

I drifted the Klamath River from the hatchery to the fishhook with my Dad today. We got on the water at 9:45am and were off the water by 1:30, in that time we managed to hook 8 Salmon landing 6. All the Salmon were hens(10 to 15 pounds) and were caught while bouncing roe. This is pretty good action for this early in...
