Whiskeytown Lake

Today I fished Whiskeytown Lake with three great ladies from Utah who love to fish!  This group was a ton of fun and catching limits of Kokanee salmon was just what we needed to top off a perfect day on the water.  The winds blew everyone off the cold water curtain early, but there were plenty of Kokanee stacked at the...

Trinity Lake

We fished Trinity Lake today and literally caught dozens of nice Kokanee salmon.  The bite was red hot first thing in the morning and held up steadily throughout the day.  We had a few slow spots when we moved from one area to another, but we stayed on the Kokanee pretty much all day.  A big wind in the afternoon...

Whiskeytown Lake

I fished a blustery Whiskeytown Lake this morning and had limits by 9:00 am.  The bite was steady and there are now a lot of Kokanee inside of the Whiskey Creek arm.  The 299 bridge was absolutely stacked with Kokanee and they are mostly suspended in the shadow line when the sun comes up.  As has been the case all...

Shasta Lake

Another great day on Shasta Lake fishing for rainbow trout.  Morning bite was descent, but mostly smaller fish first thing in the am.  We got into a better grade of rainbows after the sun came up over the hill and hit the lake surface.  Trout are still at 45'-55' feet and are taking small presentations trolled at 1.8-2.0 mph.  UV...
