Today we fished Shasta Lake for big browns and found a few great ones indeed.  We started with a fast troll Optimizer spoon pattern and our first brown came quickly.  After a short lull in the bite, I switched it up a bit and got our other three browns using that technique.  Bright sun and flat lake water didnt help...

Today Mark Simons and I fished Shasta Lake with one objective in mind, to find and catch a big German brown.  Well it took all of 10 minutes to find Marks personal best brown which scaled out at 10.5 lbs.  It was a great fish and after a few quick pics Mark released the big buck back into the lake....

Shasta Lake is fishing very well right now for both rainbow trout and German browns to 8 lbs.
