On Friday, the brothers McPhee (Bob and Dan) and I fished the Klamath River for Steelhead. We fished 40 miles downriver and found the fishing to be very good. We had steady action all day on half-pounders. Bob and Dan each landed one adult Steelhead with brother Dan taking the big fish honors. Dan landed a  nice wild Steely that was over 20-inches...

Salmon were on the bite again today. Jim and Winston hooked and other 20 fish, landed 10 of them. Mixed in the 10, was Winston's hog of day, a fat buck that was 39-inches and at least 25 pounds. This big old buck put up quite a battle but in the end he lost and had to pose for a picture (He was then released)....

Salmon fishing on the upper Klamath is still going strong. I fished with Jim Burney (Owner of the Blue Herron RV Park and Restaurant) and his good friend Winston, who is visiting from Hawaii today. "The Boys" from Company D, 3rd Battalion, 12th Infantry, 4th Infantry division, 1968-69, had a hell of a trip. Jack Anderson, Michael Cramer, and Patrick Dudney landed 9 out 18 Salmon, today. Anytime you can get  10 and 12 year old boys (with sugar highs, SODA!!) hooking there own fish the bite must be prettygood. I'll give the kids some credit, they could bounce bait pretty good for their ages. In the end, the diver with roe, worked best, as they hooked-up 12 Salmon on Monday.
