The level of Squaw Creek Reservoir was lowered during the summer of 2017 in order to make improvements to the water storage capacity. Ice has taken over good portions of the shoreline. Fishing overall has been slow. March should bring fair Walleye fishing near the dam and below in the river. After suffering from drought, Rye Patch fishing should continue to improve over the next season.
Lake Tahoe has benefitted from a historic winter and is full for the first time in a decade. Trolling and jigging over the fall has been great for macks, rainbow, and brown trout which would lead us to believe that the winter will be just as productive.
