Looks like the majority of fish reported this week were Catfish. A Collins Lake "regular" Jerry Freeman held true to form and captured two really nice Catfish. He fished in Elmer's Cove using his version of "stinkbait" and left with a 5 pound & a 7 lb. 4 oz. Whiskerfish!! Fred Marania of Dixon & Bill Bernhartt of Davis caught the most Catfish on a stringer this week. Their stringer had 5 Cats and their largest weighed 10 lbs. They used Anchovies and fished all night from a boat in about 30 feet of water.

Eric Hansard with the help of Courtney & Bryce caught the Biggest Cat this week using stinkbait and fishing from a boat near the powerlines. This monster Cat weighed 11 lb. 12 oz.

That was all the catches reported this week, and it doesn't surprise me in the least since the daytime temperatures averaged 103 degrees. In the fall, as the night time temperatures drop back down the thread thin shad will hatch and the trout bite will increase drastically. This happens usually in late October.
