Limits, limits, limits!  This seems to be the theme for this fall stretch on Shasta Lake this year.  The summer crowds are gone and fishing pressure is light.  Surface temps have cooled off to 71 degrees and should continue to do so with the much cooler nights we've had here in the Redding area.  Most of the trout we're seeing are in the 50'-70' range but we'll start seeing them up high when the Shad come back up to the surface this month.  There are still plenty of trout down low in the system between the dam and the I-5 Bridge but look for that to change soon.  Our trout head north in the winter so don't spend too much time in the big water in the coming months.  We're spending most of our time on river salmon now but stay tuned for more Shasta Lake reports in the weeks to come!
