Our lake rose 5 feet in the last 10 days, we now stand at 35' down. Last night's rain is still running in and it looks like more rain coming this week. Today it is sunny but still very cold.

The latest catches were all Bass. Kevin Renie caught an 18" Bass and lost a big one on Swimbait off Elmer's Cove point. Lew & John limited out on Bass fishing the shoreline on this side from the launching ramp towards the dam. Their biggest was 4-1/2 lb. and they used Crankbait.

Although we did have a Fish & Game Trout plant on 1/17 I haven't heard of any catches and that is partially due to the fact that it has been windy or raining ever since.

The lake is muddy and will continue to be muddy until it has a week or two between storms to settle down naturally. The best fishing under these conditions is catfishing although I have seen many Bass or Trout caught after a storm too. The fish will be looking for fresh food at the natural run-off areas first. They will then venture towards the bridge where the water is flowing in from Dry Creek and from Brownsville's run-off as well. Up until a few days ago they couldn't get up under the bridge, but they can now.
