Bird hunting opportunities
The Eastern Oregon blue and ruffed grouse (forest grouse) season ends Dec. 31. Chuckar and quail season ends Dec. 31 in Morrow and Umatilla counties. Most other areas remain open until Jan. 31, 2013 – check the 2012-2013 game bird regulations.

Storms bring seabirds
Pelagic seabirds, including shearwaters, petrels, storm petrels and rarely albatrosses, can be seen along north coast beaches and estuaries right after strong sou’westers. These birds typically spend their entire lives out in the ocean, going on small islands only to nest.
