33-pound bright male King taken at Knights Landing; striper fishing hot near Pittsburg

Nov. 28: James Shatzer of Antelope busted this 33 bright male this Friday morning, November 26th, at Knights Landing, with a T-50 Flatfish with a sardine wrap.

The fish was weighed in by Kristian Du Vall at Elkhorn Outdoor Sports in Rio Linda. Shatzer is an experienced angler and regular customer at Elkhorn.

MyOutdoorBuddy wishes to thank Kris and Tracy Boggs, also the owner of Fall River Outfitters in Fall River Mills for getting this great news to MyOutdoorBuddy while the fish was so fresh it was still wet.

Du Vall also reports seeing a 28-lb striper at Verona, which was caught on a jumbo minnow. Du Vall says plenty of 11 to 18 pound stripers are being caught at the Ports of Sacramento. Kevin Brock of Kevin Brock's Guide Service reports the action is read hot on stripers near Pittsburg. "I have been fishing from Decker Island all the way down to Broad Slough.  We have been catching lots of fish every day trolling.  If any other info is needed I will be glad to share," Brock said. "Here is my cell call anytime 530 570 8057.  The two best colors have been the red head and the chartreuse P-Line Predator and Yozuri's. Fish On!  Happy Holidays"

Sturgeon? Well, they're biting well at Rio Vista at the power lines and are on fire in Pittsburg with anglers using eel and ghost shrip combo's. Elkhorn is located at 6745 20th Street. For the latest fishing information on waters surrounding Rio Linda give Kris a call at 916- 991-5298. Photo below courtesy of Kevin Brock
