Hot sun and big rainbows continues to be what you can expect to find when fishing Shasta Lake.  Todays early bite was short lived, mainly because the trout had moved a bit from where I had last fished for them.  After a few descent rainbows were caught, there was a pretty defined lull in the bite and it wasn't until I changed a few things up that we found a hot bite again.  Most of the trout we caught were holding over deep water and bit at the 63'-67' foot line.  We ended the 1/2 day morning trip with 11 great rainbows and a King salmon in the cooler for my clients.  They hooked hooked even more fish, but a few came unbuttoned near the boat.  Theres still a good bite going so I cant wait for the next trip!
