Bear Valley  Mountain Ski Resort
Bear Valley Mountain Resort is a beloved destination for both Sierra locals and visitors alike. Located in a secluded part of the Stanislaus National Forest along Ebbetts Pass National Scenic Byway at 7,000 foot elevation, the resort boasts a dramatic view 3,800 feet into the deep, granite cut of the Mokelumne River. Aside from the striking views of the surrounding mountains and the towering Mokelumne Peak just across the river, the resort has a laid-back vibe that can be difficult to find at most quality snow sport facilities.

Bear Valley Resort offers visitors a break from large crowds with space enough for beginners to get on their feet and for experts to indulge uninterrupted. Ease of access makes the resort a great day trip and the variety of lodging options allows for an affordable over night stay.

Blackwood Canyon Sno-Park
The Blackwood Canyon Sno-Park in Placer County is located on the west side of Highway 89 in the Lake Tahoe Basin. Situated three miles south of Tahoe City, this is the only state managed sno-park on Lake Tahoe's north shore. Snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snow play, dog sledding, and snowshoeing are all recommended activities here.

Barker Pass, Stanford Rock, Ellis Peak, and Blackwood Ridge are prominent downhill ski locations that are not easily accessible but offer excellent backcountry experience once reached. Homewood Mountain Ski Resort and Squaw Valley Resort are both located nearby in case you decide you're looking for the full resort experience.

Cedar Pass Snow Park
This small but charming and beautiful snow park is a hidden gem perfectly positioned in the Warner Mountains in Modoc County. The small town ambiance and sense of community pride provide a perfect setting for the whole family to enjoy. Cedar Pass Snow Park is community owned, staffed and run entirely by volunteers. 

Lessons are offered throughout the day when the ski hill is open and for the first time skier, equipment and lessons are provided free of charge!

China Peak Mountain Resort
