Limiting out for Trout at McCloud Reservoir is easy pickings. Last trip, my clients and I fished from 4:30pm until dark, and we landed over 20 Trout. Many of the Rainbow Trout were in the 10 to 15 inch range, a few were pushing 20 inches. We did have one Trout that was easily over 20 inches hammer our offer as the sun went down, but as many big fish do when it saw the boat and net, it spit the hook. We landed all out Trout while trolling Sep's Strike king dodger with a worm trailer. Trolling slow (.5mph to 1.3mph) along the points and drops offs in 20 to 35 feet of water were the keys to getting bit.
