I reported this morning that the temperatures were between 16 and 35 (for yesterday) degrees, well today it was between 10 and 25 with some wind mixed in. Burrrrrrrrrrr!!!! But the Steelies are biting and the bigger adults are loving the crawdad plug. Just back troll very very slow, the water is in the low 40's and the Steelies are not moving far to get their meals, so working the water from shore to shore is the key to getting bit. The 5 pounder I lost yesterday, was the first Steelie I landed today. My Dad and I landed 3 nice adults all over 18 inches while fishing just the upper section of the river. Last few days there had been a total of 5 boats on the water. Today 3 others plus myself and yesterday just one other boat. No pressure means more fish for those that are trying!
