It felt like winter was around the corner today. When we launched the Jetboat at 930 this morning, the weather did not look like it was going to get any better, and by 3pm it hadn't. My Dad, good friend Guy, and I fished in a steady rain all morning and into the afternoon, but we found a good bite up the river arm of McCloud Reservoir, and we fished it till our fingers were numb. The Trout didn’t seem to care about the 44-degree water, rain, and light wind (which made it colder that it was, high 40's). We caught most of the Rainbow Trout while trolling a Seps dodger with a worm trailer, but we did land a few fish on flies, Seps grubs and a crawdad plug. As long as the snow does not build up the Reservoir will fish well into the winter. I will be back at tomorrow, hopefully the weather will be a bit better, but the forecast is not promising.
