Early fall salmon fishing on the Sacramento River is entering the home stretch and its evident in the fall colors the salmon are sporting right now.  We have a mix of old and new fish in the system and it appears we're about to get the final push of King salmon with the next full moon this week.  With the salmon taking their time to come up river, I expect we'll have some pretty solid fishing for the next four weeks, unless a rain event pulls staging salmon into the Coleman National Fish Hatchery located on Battle Creek in Anderson, Ca.  The fishing is about what we'd expect for this time of the year and we're catching fish daily.  As the early fall run comes to an end, we will switch gears and start fishing for the Late Fall salmon in the Anderson area and will be chasing hatchery steelhead as well.  The late fall season offers this kind of an opportunity we look forward to every year.  While the early fall season has been sold out, we do have some availability in November and December for thos who would like to chase some big, bright late fall salmon and hatchery steelhead.  Boat pressure is always light and its definitely a special time to be on the river!
