Its that time of the season where one area of the Sacramento Rivers action slows and another builds.  This is typical every season and we're making the adjustments now like we always do.  Right now, one area can be as good as the other but soon we'll all be looking at the same water to catch this years big King salmon.  As a whole, this years King salmon season has been a bit of a disappointment after all the hype fishieries managers placed in this years season.  We do have plenty of Kings in the system, but our numbers are definitely down from the past several years.  Its still early enough, and we could see a big increase in this years catch numbers at any time.  This next week should tell us a lot about what to expect for the remainder of the fall King run.  Even with a slower start to the season, I would expect to see some great fishing in October and again for our late fall salmon run in November and December.  Our late fall season also includes some opportunities to catch some winter run hatchery steelhead as well.  We have plenty of available dates in November and December for our late fall King salmon and steelhead trips.  Last but not least, Captain Justin Thompson will be fishing the Trinity River for winter steelhead after we start to get some rain as well.  November should bring our first rains which will pull lots of Trinity River steelhead up river.  To book your late fall salmon or steelhead trips, call Jaynie at (530) 501-2925 to get your day of fishing reserved.  Thank you!
