Its an early bite, but some days we get a few hours of constant action fishing for Shasta Lake King salmon.  There are a lot of small Kings now, but there are plenty of larger Kings in the mix that pull hard and are great for the bbq.  Todays bite shut off quick, but not before our clients got some nice fish to take home.  I keep waiting for the trout bite to explode, but they are just taking their time.  After a very exciting spring on Shasta Lake, its time to see what she really has to offer.  Massive amounts of Shad in the lake are available and I think they will be big enough to get the attention of the trout any time now.  Until that day comes, we will be targeting Kings early and fishing for trout when the King bite slows.  Thank you!
