Short early bite on Shasta lately

Alyse Crain and family enjoying a great day on the water at Shasta Lake. This was her mothers day present and she appeared to have a really fun and relaxing day with all her boys! What a great family...

Today we fished Shasta Lake primarily for rainbow trout.  We hit the main body near no name and were into some fish fairly quickly.  Its been super slow when the sun comes up so we started about 5:30 today to try and extend the morning action for my 5 clients.  Boat traffic started early and the lake was bustling by 10:00.  We were getting bites here and there, but nothing worth getting excited about.  Finally around 11:00 and after trolling 13 miles with very few bites, we took a long boat ride.  We found a pretty good bite right away at 25-35' under the boat.  The move changed the day and persistance paid off.  Blue was a good color today and I tried to stay around 1.8 mph to accomodate all of my presentations.  I tried a lot of other things, but the aforementioned is what put fish in the Yeti...
