Lower Shasta Lake browns today!

Jim Had hooked a brown earlier in the day, but this brown was much bigger than his first. Great fish to haul in at the end of the day.

Today we fished Shasta Lake only to find a pretty tough bite.  Things started off pretty good, but the bite shut down quickly.  The lake was flat and the sun was bright making for some pretty tough conditions for fishing for big browns.  Persistance paid off, and a move to the lower end of the lake gave us a couple of great browns to get a few pics of before releasing them back into the lake.  All told, we hooked 3 browns, several rainbows, and a bunch of bass as well.  I'd say we had a solid day on the water.  Most of our fish came from 25-30' of water and most were hooked fairly close to the shoreline.  We fished a lot of deep water and came up empty.  I'll be fishing for big browns until the rainbow bite picks up in late spring. Give me a call if you want a chance to hook a fish of a lifetime!  Tight lines!
