Help Defeat the WaterFix Twin Tunnels. They are alive again.

The twin tunnel WaterFix project has died at least twice but it has re-emerged once more. The Delta Stewardship Council is about to vote to approve adding the proposed WaterFix conveyance plan into the updated Delta Plan. That will keep the project alive but In doing so, they are completely ignoring their legal mandate to protect the Delta and the fish but that does not seem to matter to them.

We need to strongly oppose this action. If the tunnels are completed, there will be severe damage to the salmon runs and likely extinctions. We have developed a quick and easy system where you can send an email in opposition to that vote. Please help us kill this project once again. To join the campaign click on Water4fish.org. Then click on "Write Letters to Key Individuals" at the top of the page and proceed to your letter opposing the twin tunnels. Or, click here to go directly to the letter campaign page. Thanks for your support and please also sign up your salmon supporter friends.

Water4Fish and GGSA to Exhibit in the January International Sportsmen's Exposition in Sacramento
Come visit us at the ISE show which runs January 18th through the 21st at Cal Expo. You can get updates on the salmon situation plus sign up to win the daily drawing for $200 worth of the latest Pro-Troll salmon gear. There will be three booths where you can sign up to win.
Water4Fish - Booth 3238
Golden Gate Salmon Association - Booth 3214
Tight Lines Fishing - Booth 3245

We are seeking volunteers that can help in the booths. If you can donate a day or part of a day to help our team spread the word on saving our salmon, stripers or the Delta, email Dick Pool at Action@water4fish.org or John McManus at John@Goldengatesalmon.org. Volunteering is a great way to give back to the fisheries we love.

Thanks for your continuing support.

The Golden Gate Salmon Association is a coalition of salmon advocates that includes commercial and recreational salmon fisherman, businesses, restaurants, a native tribe, environmentalists, elected officials, families and communities that rely on salmon.

GGSA’s mission is to restore California salmon for their economic, recreational, commercial, environmental, cultural and health values.

Currently, California’s salmon industry is valued at $1.4 billion in economic activity annually in a regular season and about half that much in economic activity and jobs again in Oregon. The industry employs tens of thousands of people from Santa Barbara to northern Oregon. This is a huge economic bloc made up of commercial fishermen, recreational fishermen (fresh and salt water), fish processors, marinas, coastal communities, equipment manufacturers, the hotel and food industry, tribes, and the salmon fishing industry at large.
