Winter Steelhead fishing is in full swing on the upper Klamath River. Brian seen in the video below is landing the first Wild Steelhead (4 pounds and over 20 inches) of the day on a small rebel crawdad plug. The guys (Brian Borghi and Ken Emerson) landed a dozen adult Steelhead in the 2 to 5 pound class and many smaller fish over two days fishing bait and plugs. It is beginning to snow but it has not affected the Steelhead fishing. Over the last week, we have been seeing more Steelhead in the 16 to 25 inch range and weighing between 2 and 8 pounds. Rebel Crawdad plugs and night crawlers have been working the best. Flies (copper jons, glow bugs, scuds, big rubber legged stones and prince nymphs) fished under an indicator have also been picking up some nice Steelhead. These fish are feeding heavy and putting up a great battle once hooked. Give me a call at 530 905 0758 or email scott@caldwellfishing.com to get in on the action over the holidays and the following months. Lake Siskiyou is fishing well as long as the wind is no blowing hard. Trolling Sep's dodgers with worm trailers or flies (leeches and woolly buggers) on a sinking line slowly will pick up Trout all over the lake.
