As we await the arrival of the fall King Salmon run on the upper Klamath River excellent fishing for Steely/Trout is going on. While drifting below the Irongate reservoir in search of Salmon, my son Conner and dad Jerry have been catching some great Steely/Trout. They have been back trolling Luhr Jensen hotshots with worm trailers and bouncing bait with great success, landing adult fish up to 5 pounds. All the fish from the 1/2 pounders to adults have been healthy fat football types with a lot of fight in them. We have seen a few Salmon but as each day passes more will arrive, it will not be long before they are here in good fishable numbers.

I have a few days open in September (16th 19th and 20th) as well as few days at the end of October (24, 25, 26 and 29, 30, 31). I can be reached by email or phone to book a trip. I am also taking bookings for Winter Steelhead (conventional and fly fishing) on the Klamath for November, December and January. It is shaping up to be a banner year and we should see a lot of Steelhead.
