McCloud Reservoir is the Winter Hot Spot for outstanding Trout fishing. Conner and I fished Friday and Saturday and landed over 80 Trout. We trolled lots of different set ups and they all caught Trout. On Friday, were trolled Seps dodgers (police car, hot pink blades) with Seps's grubs (white and watermelon, brown), spoons and worm trailers. On Saturday, we trolled floating broken back rapalas with nearly the same success. Fishing out towards the dam in the top 20 feet of the water column between speeds of .5 and 1.5 MPH in an S pattern was our key to steady action both days. The weather was outstanding and we practically had the entire lake to ourselves!!
