Fishing on the Klamath, since the water level has come down to norma,l has been red hot for Trout and small Steelhead. My clients have been consistantly landing 20 plus fish per Trip. Back trolling hotshot worm combo or crawdad plug and swinging zonker flies have been producing Trout in the 8 to 20 inch range. Most of the fish have been in the 12 to 16 inch class weighing between half to 3 pounds. The river is in excellent shape after the high flows for the past 6 months. There has been very little pressure; I have yet to see more than two boats fishing other than myself. It looks as though the river will remain fishable for rest of the summer. It won’t be long before the Fall Salmon and Winter Steelhead seasons begin this September so it is time to book now to get in the great action, it’s shaping up to be one heck of year.
