It has been a while since my last report partly due to weather and partly due to my Dads battle with cancer. So far after 13 weeks of chemotherapy we are on the winning side of the battle. I got my Dad out today and in 3 plus hours of fishing we caught and released 18 wild rainbow trout. Dad landed 12 of the 18, which was pretty great. The biggest Trout was close to 20 inches and 3 pounds. All the Trout were caught  while back trolling a size 50 hotshot with a worm trailer, in the gin clear water of the McCloud River arm of the reservoir . The weather is on the warm side (90's), but you could not ask for any better fishing weather, a slight cool breeze, sunny and warm. The best part is all the hungry trout. If you have the time I highly recommend getting up here and experiencing McCloud you will not be disappointed.
