The Klamath River (Hatchery to the Klamathon bridge section) has been fishing pretty good the last couple of weeks as hungry Steely/Trout have been gorging themselves on Goldenstones and Salmonflies. My clients on Monday (Les and Robin) and Tuesday (Todd) had good success landing fat fish up to 19 inches. We were mostly sidedrifting salmonflies or worms. We were successful at times running plugs and or swinging the fly rod, but floating grass made fishing difficult at times. The weather has been very mild maybe reaching low 80's over the weekend. The last two days have been overcast with light showers and temperatures in the high 60's to low 70's. The Steely/Trout definitely have been biting better when the sun is not shining brightly on the water. As long as the weather remains less than 90 degrees the fishing will continue to be good.
